BD Gallof: Reviewing The Isles Free Agency Moves Under Lou Lamoriello Written by Blast Thunderpunch

BD is taking a couple of days to cry over losing John Tavares and consult his analytics buddy bloggers in the NHL in order to complain about the team moves so far. So I will be taking over today for an alternative look at Lou Lamoriello’s additions so far...

"At forward, Lou adds a 34 old Finn in Valtteri Filppula who has a respectable 2-way game."

You'll be praying he's off the PK by November.

These ppl were not brought in for defence. They are all terrible at that... however, they are certainly not going to score goals either. Enjoy your two years of Lou. You are now in your Dave nonis years.

Do your best to stay off the Lehner roller coaster. A few games will go by, and you'll want to crown Lehner as a goalie worth 3x his contract.. Then. THEN comes THAT game, and you'll want to eject him out of an escape pod in the middle of space. Just.. keep expectations low, and he'll be fine.

Oh, and whatever you do, win in OT. You really.. really do not want to go to a shootout. Because apparently, he refuses to practice his shootout abilities.

Martin dressed for only three games after January 22, and none in the playoffs.

Nice guy snd I sincerely wish him well, but you guys may want to lower your expectations. At least in Toronto, he was no longer capable of playing in the NHL.

Just like the fans need to have fun, so do the players. Trotz has the right personality to deal with all type of players and had positive comments about Ho Sang and other talent they need to develop. Surrounding the kids with vets like this is a good strategy. Including last year's Isles, this is a very vet group to work the kids into.

Am I getting the moral of the story when I say you guys signed penalty killers because you want to beat the poop out of your opponents, sorry, play gritty character hockey that will most likely leave you on the PK?

Trotz hockey is grubby hockey that's for sure. I'm surprised he hasn't asked to trade for Wilson yet, that may even come.......

There's clearly another JP Parise and Jude Drouin lurking in that mix...

Billy Smith was also a hothead goalie that LA didn't want.....Now there's an idea for a goalie coach...

"Barzal > Tavares ..

I dont think the Toronto fans are here in any way to troll, but are more interested as two of the players in the article refers to are old Toronto players....also, one was just a joke about the ice....might want to relax just a bit.

In regards to the article, I truly hope no one thinks that Komarov is a strong skater like stated in the article, he is extremely slow. He is however a great team mate, and was loved in the room. He isnt worth the contract at all, but you will at least enjoy having him on the team.

"On Monday at practice ahead of Toronto's game against Calgary, Mike Babcock stopped practice in order to settle a competition between two Leafs players.

Apparently Nazem Kadri and Leo Komarov have been chirping each other for a little while about who the faster skater is, and Babcock allowed the two to finally settle their debate at the Saddledome.

If you went into the race thinking Kadri was going to win, you probably weren't alone, but surprisingly Komarov came out on top."

Right now, not too badly. If you slot him as a bottom-3 player and since he only has 2 years left, it's not a big deal. 6 years ago with him playing top minutes, it was a big deal.

Out of left field thought, so now Tampa is seen as a front runner or Eric the great out of Ottawa, but to do it they would have to move a decent hunk of salary, likely to a 3rd team, anybody on that roster for our filling of cap space? Stralman, Johnson?

I watched him in actual game action. He has poor acceleration. He looked old and slow out there, thats why he got bumped down to the 4th line. Hope you arent taking an article about a joke competition as he is a good skater Youll see. Good PKer though, and smart player.

Komarov also speaks 4 languages, which helped Zaitsev acclimatize when he came over from Russia.

Lou must’ve only watched his Detroit days when he was sheltered defensively by Lidstrom, Eurotwins, Rafalski, etc.

MM was reunited with CC and CC to form the best double consonant line in hockey.

They also form the best fifth line in hockey.

Lou is trying to talk Stan Fishler out of retirement so Lou won't feel so old.
